Users typically opt for a smoother grade during cleaning and finishing; they choose rougher grades for tough applications like blending and deburring. All ceramic discs have a Y weight backing – one of the most durable cloth backings. Heavy and stiff, the backing helps the abrasive stand up to heavy stock removal. One of the reasons the disc works so well on flat surfaces is because the backing will not yield to or deflect on the substrate. These discs are 2 ply or “double thickness,” falling right between single and triple ply abrasives. The extra thickness adds rigidity and durability without totally compromising abrasive flexibility.

Our ceramic 2-ply disc features 100% ceramic grain for long-lasting durability.
This 2-ply disc has a resin-reinforced X-weight cloth backing that readily stands up to the demands of grinding and deburring. It is slightly more flexible than a 3-ply disc and well-suited for flat surfaces.
When it comes to working with stainless steel and high nickel alloys, a sharp abrasive increases efficiency. Our ceramic 2-ply disc features a grinding aid that improves the grinding performance on corrosion-resistant alloys. This helps prevent glazing of the disc, in turn enhancing cut and prolonging disc life. Moreover, this added cut efficiency helps reduce loading, part discoloration and follow-up steps.
Quick Change Convenience
We offer this disc in a range of sizes, grits and quick change sanding systems. Quick change discs allow tool-free swap outs, maintain secure attachment at high speeds, and save operators time when switching discs between grades or applications.
Choose the disc compatible with your TP, TR, TS or TSM holder pad. The TP system features a snap-on/snap-off nylon fastening hub. TR discs have a nylon threaded hub that easily mounts to TR or 3M™ Roloc™ type holder pads with a turn of the wrist, and the TS system has a metal hub that attaches to its holder pad with a simple twist. The TSM attachment features an asymmetrical metal hub that twists onto most asymmetrical hub holder pads.
