Our 3M™ Diamond Wheel 675PM are used in the production and sharpening of carbide cutting tools. This general purpose wheel is designed to give you the best form retention and a long wheel life at lower cut rates. It can be used with either oil or water based lubricants.

High Performance Grinding

Our polyimide diamond wheels are designed for high performance grinding on carbide. The 3M™ Diamond Wheel 675PM line is specifically designed for the production and sharpening of cutting tools, including end work, gashing and cutting primary and secondary relief edges. Primary relief involves removing material directly behind the cutting edge to enhance chip clearance. For secondary relief, a slight bevel is ground next to the primary relief. End work grinds a small relief angle on the tip of the tool, while gashing adds a slot along the cutting face to allow for chip flow. Each of these processes require the highest level of quality that our 3M™ Diamond Wheel 675PM provides.

Heat Resistant Bonding

These superabrasive wheels also use a polyimide resin bonding and are specially designed to resist thermal and chemical deterioration, which can occur during high speed grinding. This S rated bond is very hard and excellent for precision work on softer tool metals like carbide. This also allows for longer run times and longer over-all wheel life. Used in wet grinding applications with high volume flood coolant systems, this bonding material can be used with wither water or oil based lubricants for greater flexibility.

3M provides a broad portfolio of superabrasive wheels used for your round tool relief and clearance angle applications. The 3M™ Diamond Wheel 675PM line features a variety of metal cores, including aluminum, steel, composite and copper, and can be cut with custom arbor holes to fit customer specifications. From short runs and re-sharpening to “lights-out” and long production runs, 3M has the wheel design to meet your needs.
