The Hexacon SI-30S-80W Powerhouse Iron is an 80-watt industrial soldering iron designed for rapid soldering and high-volume production applications. As part of Hexacon's Powerhouse Iron series, the SI-30S uses a high watt-density design that delivers the performance required for larger thermal mass connections while maintaining a lighter 1/4" diameter construction.The Powerhouse series features a 6-1/2" long case that provides extended reach and improved access to difficult soldering points. Designed for long-term serviceability, the tip, element, cord, and handle are independently replaceable, helping simplify maintenance and extend tool life.The SI-30S-80W incorporates a nickel-wound heating element insulated with high-dielectric mica and wound on a conductive stainless-steel core. Hexacon elements are manufactured with a ±2% resistance tolerance, fully burnt-in to stabilize wattage, and dielectric-tested at 1200V. This construction helps maintain consistent idling temperatures, fast recovery, and long operating life.A burn-resistant neoprene power cord is designed to withstand accidental contact with the iron at operating temperatures. The three-wire grounded construction enhances operator safety, while the optional Posi-Ground configuration provides less than two millivolts of steady-state leakage for MIL-equivalent applications and component protection.The corrosion-resistant nickel-plated 6-1/2" case provides improved access to connections and work areas. Combined with the painted hardwood handle, the design delivers durability for demanding production and maintenance environments.
