Henkel’s BONDERITE M-CR 871 AERO (also known as Alodine 871) and BONDERITE M-CR 1132 AERO (also known as Alodine 1132) coating pens feature their convenient Touch-N-Prep applicator and unique non-rinsing technology that effectively protects and repairs bare aluminum substrates to prevent corrosion. Both Alodine 871 and Alodine 1132 are dry-in-place coatings that don’t require rinsing and can be air-dried or force-dried with hot air or infra-red lamp.
The Touch-N-Prep ready-to-use pen applicator provides an easy and safe application method for touch-ups by delivering the coating directly onto the surface. It features a high-density acrylic tip that can be modified with a single-edge razor blade to form any shape or used with specially designed replacement slim tips available for purchase.
BONDERITE® Alodine M-CR 871 AERO Touch-N-Prep® is a tri-chromate dry-in-place conversion coating used for bare corrosion protection and bonding applications when combined with organic coatings or structural adhesives. It provides an easy, safer method to protect and repair aluminum and aluminum alloy surfaces from corrosion on aircraft and aircraft parts.
BONDERITE® Alodine M-CR 1132 AERO Touch-N-Prep® is a hex-chrome dry-in-place conversion coating designed for small-scale touch-up applications to efficiently repair scratched and damaged bare aluminum substrates and other steels on aircraft and aircraft parts. It provides excellent corrosion protection with or without painting.

MIL-DTL-5541 is the process specification for chemical conversion coatings on aluminum and aluminum alloys. This specification references the qualified products list (QPL) on MIL-DTL-81706, which lists both BONDERITE M-CR 1132 AERO and BONDERITE M-CR 871 AERO. Henkel certifies both products to MIL-DTL-81706B.
BONDERITE M-CR 1132 AERO is a hexavalent chrome chemical conversion coating and BONDERITE M-CR 871 AERO is a trivalent chrome chemical conversion coating. BONDERITE M-CR 1132 AERO leaves an apparent yellow gold coating after application and BONDERITE M-CR 871 AERO leaves a clear iridescent coating after application. Performance of both coatings meets the same corrosion protection and paint adhesion requirements per MIL-DTL-81706B.
