Hisco Named an Outstanding Supplier of the Year by Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems

HOUSTON—Feb. 2, 2018—Hisco Inc., an employee-owned, specialty distribution company, recently received an Outstanding Small Business Strong Award for its commitment and exemplary performance in support of Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS). Hisco was selected as one of 16 small business partners, among more than 10,000 suppliers, to receive the award in 2017.

“Hisco has provided excellent support and services to the Clearwater and Orlando sites, in support of multiple lines of business and programs,” said Steve Hudak, subcontract administrator for RMS, in his nomination letter. “They are flexible and make real-time changes at our request for new items, product substitutions or requirement changes.”

The company handles the chemical Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) of approximately 50 on-going programs, controlling more than 500 part numbers through the process. Hisco is responsible for significant year-over-year savings at the Clearwater site alone, according to Hudak.

This award is a reflection of our commitment to seek out cost savings for our customers wherever and whenever possible, such as scrap reduction or through our repackaging division to help eliminate waste,” said Mike Gainey, Hisco’s vice president and Southeast zone manager, who accepted the award Nov. 15 in Orlando, Florida.

To date, the company’s exclusive Documented Cost Savings (DCS) program, in which savings are documented and approved by the customer, has exceeded more than $125 million in total customer savings since 2000, including direct and indirect costs.
